Zane Wasicko is from Pennsylvania where he grew up running and backpacking. He moved to Gunnison Colorado to attend school and trail run at Western Colorado University. After spending a fall running around Colorado, winter came a lot faster than it does in Pennsylvania and Zane decided he had to learn to ski if he wanted to keep exploring the mountains all winter. After his first year of skimo racing and training, he fell in love with the sport and the ability to enjoy the mountain in a new way. The 2024-2025 season will be his 3rd season of skiing and racing. His favorite race is the Wy’Easter individual race in Oregon and he is excited at the prospect of being able to race abroad this season.

While not in ski season Zane is probably spending his time running, scrambling, or fastpacking in Colorado, or going to class.
