
Tiernan Pittz is from Carbondale, CO, where he trains year-round on the Aspen Snowmass resorts and Sunlight Mountain. The 2024-25 season is his fourth season in competitive skimo, first year in the U20 category, and second year on the USSMA National Team. Tiernan’s favorite races on the National Cup calendar are the Taos teams race, Tellurando, and Wolf Creek. He has also had the opportunity to race abroad, representing Team USA at the 2023 World Championships in Boí Taüll, Spain, and the 2024 ISMF Youth World Cup in Molde, Norway.In the summer, Tiernan trains predominantly as a mountain biker, having raced through high school on the Colorado High School MTB circuit, for state-championship-winning team Colorado Rocky Mountain School, and raced for the University of Colorado Mountain Bike Team this past fall. He also trains in the summer on his home mountains in Colorado. Tiernan attends the University of Colorado, Boulder where he studies biomedical and mechanical engineering and trains on the Flatirons as well as at Eldora, Arapahoe Basin, and Loveland ski resorts.
