I first found Skimo after my fifth grade teacher who happened to be a world champion ski mountaineer, Nina Silitch, started a team and recommended the sport to me. I was humbled by my first race and decided to train much harder for the sport. I have raced Skimo for about 6 years now, with multiple top three finishes at races such as the Vail winter mountain games, Arapahoe Basin, and the Powderkeg. I finished first place for my age group and third overall at the Power of Four teams race with my partner Griff Briley. I hope to race in Europe and continue my Skimo career well into the future with the ultimate goal of racing at the Olympics. Skimo has brought me many things, but most importantly, it has instilled a love for the outdoors and nature in me. I would not be the person I am today without Skimo.
