USA Skimo continues to develop its National Referee group to officiate sanctioned events, including National Cup Events and National Championships. National Referees are also eligible to attend trainings and be certified as ISMF referees. A National Referee’s role is to work closely with race directors and to ensure that USA Skimo rules and protocols are followed to promote fair play and a safe venue. Additionally, referees are responsible for overseeing the start and finish areas at a venue to ensure accurate results and to assign any penalties for violations of the rules.

If you are interested in becoming a USA Skimo National Team Referee we will be holding a two hour virtual training on November 30, 2022 beginning at 6:00 p.m. MST. We will also have an on-the-snow training at A-Basin Ski Area and in Frisco, CO on December 9-11, 2002, where you will have the opportunity to help officiate three event, Vertical (A-Basin 12/9), Sprint (Frisco Nordic Center 12/10) and Individual (A-Basin 12/11). Both the virtual and on-snow training are required.
